A Better Future After the Crisis with guest Vicki Wusche

Recorded March 19th 2020 during the global pandemic.

My original plan in chatting with Vicki Wusche was that we discuss how she has grown her business through public speaking and become an expert in property investing through her books. We had a few other topics in mind too and we decided to save them all for another time and discuss what is going on now and how we might help ourselves to create a better future once this crisis is over.

We hope this conversation may especially help anyone who is feeling a sense of despair and fear for the future, especially how careers, businesses and the financial world will be affected.

Vicki makes a very generous offer at the end of the podcast that is open to everyone.

If you would like to connect with Vicki or take her up on her offer, you can email her vicki@wusche-associates.co.uk. You can find out more about Vicki at https://www.VickiWusche.com

The Loqui Podcast Episode 11 – Creating Confidence with Jules Wyman, confidence coach

There are times we could all do with being or at least feeling more confident. In terms of presenting and having presence and influence in your environment, confidence is a critical element.

I have known Jules for many years and there are few people more experienced in this area who I would rather talk to. We talk about all sorts of other stuff too, much related to the personal development industry and some of the good and bad we have experienced there.
I cut a few bits for time but don’t worry, I kept in all of the very best bits and hope you will enjoy.

If you also enjoy listening in to other people’s conversations, this is for you. We probably should have recorded this in a bar somewhere…

The Loqui Podcast – Episode 10 – We Need To Talk

The ability to present and communicate well is no longer a soft business skill, it’s a critical business and leadership requirement. In this episode, I talk about why business owners and professionals need to speak, where people tend to make mistakes and how we can become better speakers and presenters, gaining more trust, respect, recognition and authority.

Ep.9 – The Loqui Podcast – Gaming Influence with guest Alyea Sandovar

I first came across the concept of gamification reading Nir Eyal’s book ‘Hooked’ but I could not say for sure I had fully grasped it, I just understood that it was a powerful tool for increasing engagement, specifically for online courses and information products but in other ways also.

When Alyea approached me about being a guest on the show, I was excited as people with expertise in this area seem to be hard to come by. No matter what kind of business you are in, gamification is a useful tool to be able to understand and apply and if you’re not familiar with this, Alyea gives a great introduction and explanation in our chat.

Alyea is a play and game consultant. She currently works with entrepreneurs helping them playify their products and services. She has worked on several educational games and non-profit game projects as well as conducted game and virtual reality research at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. She was a co-founder of the diversity group for the Digital Games Research Association as well as serving as a conference associate for the Game Developers Conference for four years. She has a PhD in game production, where she studied independent game designers.

Alyea is originally from Colombia but considers herself a world citizen as she has lived in Costa Rica, Florida, Texas and California (and has travelled to many countries). She now lives in Amsterdam, Netherlands, where she learned to love (with a capital L) hageslag (chocolate sprinkles with bread and butter). When she is not working, you can find her either on the dance floor, hanging with friends or drinking a mean cortado while going down the rabbit hole of UFO youtube videos.

Ep.8. The Loqui Podcast – Hypnotic Sales & The Importance of Likeability with guest Stephanie Scheller

I don't know if I've ever had so much fun recording a podcast as I did with Stephanie Scheller! Stephanie was super excited to talk about presentation and influence and to dive deep on a few things and share some real-life stories and experience. I honestly hope to repeat the experience again in the future and I know you'll find something important to take away from this chat. Stephanie Scheller is the #1 bestselling author of the books Friend Power: How the Friends You Choose Can Change Your Life and Getting Past the Gatekeeper: How to Turn Your Greatest Enemy Into Your Greatest Ally. (If you have Kindle Unlimited, you can read them for free!) She is a TED speaker, a Forbes 30 under 30 Nominee, as well as a top-notch business trainer & coach with a focus in sales, marketing & systems, and is located in San Antonio, TX. She has been delivering powerful, motivational performances for more than 12 years and always delivers a commanding, informative session no matter the audience. I personally learned a lot on this podcast and there were some big takeaways. This one episode is packed with a ton of value and I recommend bookmarking the bits you like and as Stephanie recommends, don't try to take action on it all at once. You can find out more about Stephanie on her business site www.GrowDisrupt.com and her public profile TheStephanieScheller.com and I highly recommend you check out her Podcast 'Blackbelt Selling' which she runs with her Mom. Fasten your seatbelts and enjoy the ride.

Ep.7. The Loqui Podcast – Magic Pills & Psychological Placebos with Guest Maitén Panella

My guest this week is psychologist Maitén Panella (maitenpanella.com) and I invited her on the show because she's a fascinating lady and she has some really powerful insights and experience which we got to talking about after my first podcast on the dark side of influence. Here's a taster of what we discussed: What's the problem with rapid interventions to big psychological issues at large personal development events? Are some successful people using their authority to con free work out of people? Is hypnosis really a thing? How to deal with people who believe in very different things to you? We discuss the dangers of these seemingly magical solutions and how you can protect yourself against unethical people and how to spot when there might be a problem. We talk about quite a few other things, some of them potentially controversial. I thought about bleeping some names and even cutting some parts completely but... I decided, in the end, to throw it all out to the world and let the dice land where they may. I wanted to do this in 2 parts but just couldn't find a good point to stop where it would make sense.

Ep.6. Covert Influence & Gaining Trust with guest Frederik Sandvall

My interest in speaking with Frederik was piqued when he mentioned that he has a background in diplomatic and intelligence services. We're not talking James Bond here... or are we? I know I was fascinated to find out more about Frederik and to hear more about covert influence and trust tactics that he has experience with. The conversation was indeed fascinating and there's a ton of stuff I would have loved to talk about and did not have the time. I hope we can get Frederik back as a guest in the future. Enjoy the podcast and we'd love to hear your feedback. Ep.5 – The Loqui Podcast – Being your best self with guest Joel Hawbaker

My guest in this episode is Joel Hawbaker. Joel is a motivational speaker on leadership and has a mission to help people become the best version of themselves. Joel is also a blended family coach, which is helping families who join together with kids from other relationships to deal with the challenges and adjust to the new reality. We had a good chat about public speaking, leadership and what it means to be your best self. I really enjoyed speaking to Joel and I hope you will enjoy listening in. To find out more about Joel you can visit http://reallifeleading.com and http://stepdadding.com To take Joel up on his offer of free e-book versions of his books 'Inverted Leadership' and 'Extraordinary Leadership' you can email him at joel@speakerjoel.com and if you are interested in having Joel come and speak to your group or organisation, I am sure he'd love to hear from you. I've got my copies of Joel's books and I can tell you they're well worth checking out. Thanks for tuning in, John.
