From Pavarotti to Public Speaking with my guest Elizabeth Bachman

An insightful chat with a former director of the Met Opera who has since turned her skills and expertise to training public speaking skills. When you realise that Elizabeth has directed great opera stars like Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo, you know that she’s someone worth listening to.

We had a lot of fun chatting together and I was intrigued to find out what the similarities and differences were between directing an opera and training people in public speaking. I love some of the distinctions and insights Elizabeth shares and I am sure you will too. ABC, always be learning. You will learn a lot from this amazing expert.

You can find out more about Elizabeth on her website ElizabethBachman.com Please take the assessment. I did and it has really helped me to see what I need to focus on, with some guidance from Elizabeth herself.
I highly recommend Elizabeth’s podcast Speakers Who Get Results where you can even find me coming up as a guest.
The book Elizabeth recommends is called The Disruption Mindset by Charlene Li

‘Present Your Purpose’ with guest Mike Michalowicz

A chat with best-selling business author and business speaker Mike Michalowicz about presenting authentically, podcasting and having a driving purpose.

If you don’t know who Mike Michalowicz is, it could be that you don’t read many business books. If you do, and you still don’t know, allow me to introduce one of the best business authors and speakers of recent times, whose books I have been recommending to my business owner clients for some time now.

I was first introduced to Mike’s work with his book ‘Clockwork’, which is a very helpful book on how to automate your business so that you no longer need to be there. Then I read Profit First right after and realised this was a great money management system for business.

Now, in a time of major business uncertainty, comes Mike’s new book ‘Fix This Next’ where he helps business owners get clear about what is important for them to be dedicating time to and how to prioritise for results.

Mike is a prolific podcaster and a great speaker and so I wanted to make sure I got some insights and tips from him.

I know you’re going to love this episode. Make sure to check out Mike’s new book and enjoy some of his free resources online here…

The Business of Speaking Part 2 with guest Li Hayes

Do you speak professionally? Have you ever thought about getting paid to speak? Would you like some industry insights from a speaker agent who specialises in coaching emerging speakers? I thought so. Well, you’re in the right place.

In this episode, I chat with an expert in speaker management who now specialises in coaching emerging speakers into the industry, Li Hayes from Go Leeward speaker management.

Her company Go Leeward connects dynamic, world-class business and motivational speakers with business event planners, marketing leaders, and executive business leaders to make your event exceed expectations and truly ‘WOW’ your audience.

As the Founder and Speaker Manager, Ishe directs an efficient and seamless process — providing a hassle-free, cost-effective experience by eliminating agencies and connecting you directly to powerful speakers. With Go Leeward, you receive personal, professional service backed by deep expertise in strategic planning, team leadership, and talent management.

Li shares insights about the speaker industry in this time of Covid19 and some powerful guidance for new and emerging speakers who want to stand out and not just blend into the background with thousands of others.

Towards the end of the podcast, Li recommends the book ‘Profit First’ by Mike Michalowicz. It’s a great book which I have read many times over and received a lot of benefit from. I regularly recommend this book to my business-owning coaching clients.
Mike Michalowicz is going to be my next guest on the show, so be ready for that!

The Business of Speaking Part 1 with guest Lauren Pibworth

In this episode, I chat with speaker marketing expert and LinkedIn super-sharer Lauren Pibworth. We talk about how I found out what my marketing spirit animal is and more. It’s not so strange as it sounds, I promise.

Lauren is among the most successful marketing agencies exclusively for speakers in North America working to create marketing strategies to get more speakers on more stages. She’s great fun to chat with, very real and completely dedicated to working with her clients to find innovative ways to combat the COVID crisis in the speaking industry. She shares with her some of the insights usually reserved for her clientele.

If you’re a professional speaker or thinking you might like to be, you need to listen to this and check Lauren out.

The Kindness Warrior: How to get investors with guest Michele Pitman-Martinez

I just love talking to women in leadership and this time I get two!

In this episode, I am joined by kindness warrior Michele Pitman-Martinez and my sometimes co-host who helped me launch this podcasting project Aida Diaz-Agero (a lot of double-barreled names there, for this one I shall be John Alexander Fraile-Ball so I don’t miss out).

We chat about things like women in the technology sector, getting investment for your business growth, leading a team, networking and serving your customers & community. So, we cover a lot of ground.

Michele Pitman-Martinez is founder & CEO of intelliVOL, based in Dallas, Fort-Worth. She’s a rock-solid business leader who has faced and overcome some serious business challenges that would sink most people. I hope you’ll enjoy meeting this unsinkable kindness warrior as much as Aida and myself enjoyed talking with her.
